Advanced Placement Computer Science

The Advanced Placement Program ® is run by the College Board. The AP® Computer Science Examination is designed by the AP® CS Development Committee, and is implemented and administered by Educational Testing Service.

AP Computer Science Information

The delivery language for the AP® Computer Science exam is Java since the 2004 exam administration.
There are two AP® Computer Science courses, the Computer Science A course, and the Computer Science AB course. The official Course Description ("Acorn book") is also available online.
The GridWorld case study is the current case study beginning 2007-08.

Dave Reed (the current Chief Reader) maintains an "unofficial" AP CS web page with lots of useful links and information.
Chris Nevison (the previous Chief Reader) also maintains an AP CS web page with lots of useful links and information.
Maria & Gary Litvin's Skylight Publishing, publisher of a number of books in wide use by AP Computer Science teachers (Java Methods (A & AB), Be Prepared for the AP Computer Science Exam), also maintain a website that has much useful information for AP teachers, including annotated solutions to past Free Response questions.
Joe Bergin's page has a wealth of information on object-oriented programming and patterns, including a pointer to the Pedagogical Patterns project.
