Become a Monkey

The goal of the project is to have a publicly accessible Web-based morphing application that can achieve the following

• Let anyone upload their photo.
• Let anyone mark the 43 points on their photo.
• Let anyone see the transformation of themselves into a shape of the monkey

The only thing novel about this project is that it's being done on the Web using no plug-ins and no Java applets.

Technology

The technologies used for the execution of the project spans across various domains:

• Web browser that supports the Canvas element (supported in FireFox 1.5, Safari 2.0, and Opera 9)
• Javascript
• Python CGI scripts
• Python Imaging Library
• Numeric Python
• libJpeg (compiled for linux)
• libQhull, namely the qdelaunay executable. (compiled for linux)
