Lab L3 - Optimizing Code

Lab 2 was handed out Thursday, Oct 12. It is due 11:59 pm, Wednesday November 1 [Note change in due date]. The writeup is available in Postscript. The files for the assignment can be retrieved from /afs/cs.cmu.edu/academic/class/15213-f00/L3/L3.tar.

There are a number of changes from the original handout, so be sure to retrieve a new copy of the .tar file, and a new version of the lab description.

Notes

The performance checker and web handin are running now.
- First register your group at the Group Registration page.
- After you have registered your group you can pass a file to the performance checker at the Submission Page.
  You need to submit only one file. To do a check on the cache performance submit only the file conversion.c. If you want to test the throughput submit only the file conversion_through.c. The results will be send to you by e-mail.
- You can view the different versions of the code you submitted and its performance if you log in to the History Page.
