Shannon's Theorem, what is the maximum speed a modem can achieve over
the telephone line?
- The DSL technology runs over the telephone line and can achieve
transmission speed of several Mbps. Does it contradict the result in the
previous problem and Shannon's Theorem? Explain why or why not. It may
be worthwhile to spend a couple of minutes researching on the Web.
- How many bits per second are used to transport SONET overhead in
a OC-3 link?
