The Research Team

Allan Fisher is Associate Dean of the Carnegie Mellon University School of Computer Science, and oversees its undergraduate education programs. Dr. Fisher is also a researcher in the area of high performance computer and network architecture. He holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science from Carnegie Mellon University, and an A.B. in chemistry from Princeton University.

Jane Margolis is a social scientist and an expert in gender issues in education. She received her Doctorate in Education from the Harvard Graduate School in Education in 1990, where she studied with feminist theorist Dr. Carol Gilligan. Her research and teaching has focused on gender differences in the use of language in academic settings and gender inequity in education. Dr. Margolis received her B.A. from the University of California at Berkeley in 1969, where she was a Social Science Field Major, and her M.A. in 1985 in Psychology from Harvard University Extension.

Faye Miller is a Research Associate at Carnegie Mellon University. She works in the field of qualitative research, and has a BA in Women's Studies from the College of Wooster.
