Lyotard Demo

This is an edited trace of an interaction with Lyotard.

Summary:
Initially, Lyotard distrusts and fears the human interactor (called the "player"). Eventually, Lyotard becomes hungry and is grateful when the human feeds him.

Notes:
The text descriptions are all computer generated, so they are not very interesting, but they are completely consistent with the simulated world.

Lyotard displays emotions, social behaviors, and a unique personality. By using similar methods, we hope to get away from traditional puzzle-oriented interactive fiction and create more social experiences.

   plastic trash can, the yellow bowl, the red superball and the white 
   toy mouse are in the kitchen.

   The red catfood is in the cabinet.
   The blue catfood is on the long counter.

PLAYER> go to the dining room

   You go to the dining room.

You are in the dining room.

   To the south, you see the sunroom.
   To the east, you see the kitchen.

   The end table and the small chair are in the dining room.
   The jar, the bread basket, the black cup and the large plate are on 
   the end table.
   The three bran muffins are in the bread basket.
   The nine black sardines are in the jar.

PLAYER> take the jar

   You take the jar.

   You go to the south.

You are in the sunroom.

   To the west, you see the window.
   To the west, you see the rose garden.
   To the east, you see the red bedroom door.

   You offer the black sardine to Lyotard.
   Lyotard runs to the dining room.

   You run to the dining room.
   Lyotard looks around nervously.
