The Comprehension Operators
The PEACTIDM comprehension operators are those which may appear as the
top operator. In general, they modify the internal representation of
the world, either to take note of the presence of a particular
stimulus (recognition), to perform some sort of re-representation
(language comprehension, visual page comprehension), or to draw some
sort of further inferences about what is currently represented in
memory. As Allen describes these operators in Unified Theories
of Cognition: "Comprehend... involves both recognition
and labeling or re-representing, as required."
