WebWatcher Demo
The following postscript images show a typical tour with WebWatcher.
The images are those presented in the talk at IJCAI97.
-
Slide 1: A modified version of the SCS-Frontdoor
page at CMU. Please note the hyperlink in the top part of the page pointing
to WebWatcher.
-
Slide 2: The user followed the hyperlink to
WebWatcher and can now type in an interest.
-
Slide 3: WebWatcher's tour starts at the same
page the user entered the system from - in our case the SCS-Frontdoor page.
WebWatcher makes several additions to the page:
-
A menubar is inserted into the page.
-
WebWatcher displays the results of a key word search for the interest description
based on the pages this WebWatcher instance has visited before.
-
WebWatcher highlight hyperlinks in the original page which it deems particularly
useful according to the user's interest.
-
Slide 4 and slide 5
and slide 6: The user follows WebWatcher's suggestion
and goes to the list of project home pages. Again, certain hyperlinks are
highlighted.
-
Slide 7: Eventually the user decides to go to
WebWatcher's home page.
