(UPI) -- Dave Barr threw three second-half touchdown passes, including a 26-yarder to Iheanyl Uwazuoke with 1:17 to play Saturday, capping a comeback from a 30-point deficit that gave No. 16 California a 42-41 victory over Oregon. The Golden Bears returned a blocked punt for a touchdown and stopped the Ducks on a fourth-and-goal with five minutes to go en route to completing the second-best comeback in NCAA Division 1-A history. Maryland rallied from a 31-0 third-quarter deficit to defeat Miami 42-40 on Nov. 10, 1984 and Ohio State erased a 31-point second quarter margin in a 41-37 victory over Minnesota on Oct. 28, 1989. Barr completed 21 of 31 passes for 368 yards for California (5-0, 2-0 in the Pacific-10 Conference). Danny O'Neil completed 17-of-33 passes for 313 yards and three touchdowns for Oregon (3-1, 0-1).
