Running Authorware

Getting Started
- Find a PowerMac
- CFA 321 - Some have audio jack on CRT front hooked up
- Hunt Library - Bottom floor
- WeH 5419 - Audio jack around back of CPU
- From the apple menu in the menubar run the CHOOSER application
- Select AppleShare in upper left box
- Select CLUSTERS zone in lower left box
- Select CLUSTERS server in box on right
- Hit OK
- A dialog box should come up prompting you for an account name and password
- Use the account name "mediatech" in the dialog box
- Specify the password given in class
- Hit OK
- A box with a list of volumes should appear
- Select MAC_COURSEWARE from the list by double clicking on it
Note: it opens the highlighted volume and not the volume denoted with the X!!!
- There should now be a server icon on the right side of the screen, double click on it
- Open up the Media Technology folder and copy the 3 folders to the local disk on the Mac
- When copying is finished, drag the server icon into the trash
- You can now run Authorware by double clicking on the AuthorwareStar icon in the Authorware Star folder
Out of memory fix
You may get out of memory messages when running Authorware. In particular the
5419 WeH cluster. In that case do this:
- Quit Authorware Star
- Highlight the Authorware Star icon by single clicking on it
- While depressing the "apple key" on the keyboard, type "i"
- Increase the preferred memory size field
- Close the window
- Restart Authorware Star
Quitting Authorware
- Close the application
- Drag the 3 folders you downloaded into the trash
- From the Special menu in the top menubar, empty the trash
