There are now crane-folding instructions elsewhere on the web! (imitation is the
sincerest..) However, the set I've found so far are way slow-loading
and I can't make them out at all on a non-color screen. YMMV.
There is an alt.arts.origami
newsgroup which is valiantly reclaiming its turf from the usual
alt.* spammers.

FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions about origami). This is a text
version, not HTML, released under the terms of the GNU Public License. I will probably provide a
HTMLized version soon, unless someone else does first, also under the
GPL.
There is an origami club at CMU (I always seem to have a conflict
with the meeting) and I'll put CMU origami page links here real soon
now.
Anne LaVin , who runs origami classes at MIT during IAP, also has
