Gotta Be Mead
- 2.5 lbs clover honey
- 4 tsp dried orange peel
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- .5 tsp ground ginger
- .25 tsp ground cloves
- 1 tsp acid blend
- 1 tsp yeast nutrient
- .5 tsp irish moss
- 1 pkg Doric wine yeast
Add all ingredients, except honey, to 1 qt water.
Simmer 10 mins. Add 2 qts water and bring to a boil.
Add honey, boil 15 mins, skimming foam.
Cool, add yeast and aerate well.
Makes 1 gal.
OG = 1.096
FG = 1.024
Let age 1 year in bottle.
