Pilsner Urquell Ale
- 7.5 lbs Briess 2-row pale malt
- 0.5 lb Cara-pils
- 0.5 lb 10L crystal malt
- 1.7 oz Czech Saaz hop pellets (5.4%AA) (60 min)
- 0.3 oz Czech Saaz hop pellets (5.4%AA) (30 min)
- 0.5 oz Czech Saaz hop plug (3.1%AA) (10 min)
- 1.0 oz Czech Saaz hop plug (3.1%AA) (0 min)
- 1.5 oz Czech Saaz hop plug (3.1%AA) (dry hop)
- 1 tsp Irish moss
- 1 pkg (5 grams) dry Windsor English Ale yeast
Heat crushed grains with 10 qts water to 133F. Protein rest for 30 mins.
Heat to 154F and hold for 40 minute starch conversion.
Mash out at 168F for 5 minutes. Sparge with 170F
water to collect 6 1/2 gallons. Boil for 90 minutes. When fermentation
is complete, rack to secondary and dry hop for 7 days.
