Drain and reserve the water. Mash potatoes together with butter/margarine. Add potato water and stir until you have a smooth soup. If it's too thick add some additional water. Cut sausage in small pieces and add to the soup. Heat and season to taste with vinegar, sugar, salt and pepper.
