Letter about Support for Amulet

Dear Amulet Users:

We are sorry to report that the government-funded support for Amulet will end soon, and unless there we receive substantial funding from a new source, we will be unable to continue supporting Amulet. In addition to many bug fixes, we are working on lots of exciting projects, which we will NOT be able to finish unless we receive new funding. The most likely source for funding is you, the Amulet Users, so if you want to continue having support for Amulet, please provide us with a grant! Otherwise, we will have to stop most support for Amulet very soon, and there will be no further releases and no-one to answer questions.

Unfinished future projects we are working on include:

• Support for Codewarrior Pro 2 on Macintosh and PC
• Multi-line, multi-font text display and editing
• A scrolling menu widget (also called list box)
• Support to connect to Open GL
• File save and load dialog boxes
• An interactive constraint editor for Gilt
• Scripting ("macros") for command objects
• Support for playing sounds
• Support for the network to support multi-user applications. This includes distributed objects and cross-machine constraints.
• More debugging facilities

Meanwhile, a group of Amulet users is developing a version they call "OpenAmulet," to which they have added some of these.
