Stereo Cameras for Geology

Nomad will let scientists practice geology from thousands of miles away. A pair of high resolution color cameras will let scientist look at rocks and soil in 3D.

The cameras will be able to pan and tilt so the researchers can look at more landforms and rock formations.

Scientists from Nasa will try to come to conclusions about the geology in the Atacama Desert and then scientists in Chile will tell them if they were right or not.

Why is this study important?

Remote Geology is going to become very important in the study of other planets. Now robots will be able to gather information from places that humans can't travel to.
