The Interdisciplinary Center, Herzliya, Israel

Computer Science Faculty Positions

Located ten miles north of Tel Aviv, the Interdisciplinary Center (IDC) is the seed of Israel's first private university. Since its inception, the school has become a magnet for US-based Israeli scholars who seek to return to their home country while continuing to enjoy American style salaries, benefits, and working conditions. Endowed with several large government, industrial, and private grants, IDC's School of Computer and Media Sciences is a unique center for academic excellence and research collaboration with Israel's high technology industry. Our facilities include a campus-wide NT-based network, Unix-based workstations (Sun, SGI), Israel's most advanced media lab, and fast terrestrial and satellite-based links to the Internet. The teaching facilities are state of the art, equipped with the latest in communications, multimedia, and presentation technologies.

The school is presently engaged in six fully-funded large scale research projects in future Internet, media, and information technologies. We are presently seeking Computer Science faculty members at both senior and junior levels. The candidate must have a Ph.D. in Computer Science, a demonstrable record of publications, and a desire to excel in both research and teaching. We also value an entrepreneurial spirit and an ability to promote the school's stature through a variety of extra-curricular activities. Research interests are open, but preference will be given to the following areas: theory, algorithms, communications and networks, Internet technologies, software engineering.
