One Position: Assistant/Associate/Full Professor: preferred areas: databases,
applied AI, software engineering, image processing, networks, and data and
information representation. Strong candidates in any areas will be considered.

The University of North Carolina at Charlotte has over 15,000 students and is
located in Charlotte, North Carolina on a campus of nearly 1,000 acres. Charlotte
is a major industrial, transportation and finance center and is the largest MSA in
the Carolinas. The Department of Computer Science has a full range of
undergraduate computer science and computer engineering programs, has a large
master of science program and participates in the doctoral program in EE
(Computer Engineering), ME (Computer Integrated Manufacturing), and Applied
Mathematics (Logic and Optimization). Active research areas in the Department
include artificial intelligence, computer architecture, robotics, database systems,
systems integration, data communications, distributed information systems,
theoretical CS, visualization and graphics, and VLSI. The Department has a very
active medical informatics program in the Carolinas Medical Center and is
engaged in major systems integration projects with IBM. Applicants should send
