Department of Computer Science

Vassar College is successfully building a strong undergraduate program in Computer Science. We seek applications for a tenure-track position at the assistant professor level, starting in fall 1997. Commitment to excellence in undergraduate teaching and research is expected. Ph.D. in computer science required. Candidates with primary interests in graphics, networks, theory and design of databases, and parallel computing are invited to apply. Candidates must also be able to cover courses in the core areas of computer science.

Introductory courses are taught using Scheme, and C11. Department has laboratory of Macintoshes for introductory instruction, and Macintosh and Sun workstation laboratories for intermediate and upper-level courses. Faculty are provided with workstations served by the department Suns as well as the campus network, with access to the Internet. Department home page accessible at http://www.cs.vassar.edu.
