Use a NTSC 3DO on a PAL TV ? It's possible!
NTSC Decoder box for 3do and similar systems [Marty etc]
Intro:
Got a PANASONIC FZ-1 3DO??? Having problems playing it on a PAL tv??
Getting colour problems? Well im here to say its now been fixed with
ease, no internal modifications, no mess!
Note:
This does not transform NTSC to PAL, it keeps NTSC
but allows colour to be displayed. So you still
need a TV etc compatible with 60Hz signals.
The NTSC Decoder System:
A box which connects your 3DO to your non true NTSC Television or
Monitor and then gives a quality 100% colour picture.
Contains these:
- S-VHS[VIDEO] -> SCART/EURO-CONNECTOR
- SCART/EURO-CONNECTOR -> SCART/EURO-CONNECTOR
- NTSC DECODER SYSTEM/BOX
- POWER ADAPTOR
Description:
The box is pure black to match your PANASONIC FZ-1 3DO system. With
2 LED's on the front, one GREEN and one RED[RED lights up when powered
and when 3DO is powered up, the GREEN light comes on also].
The box contains two female Scart/Euro-connectors on the back, one for
INPUT and one for OUTPUT. So you have the S-VHS->SCART going from the
FZ-1 into the INPUT scart and the SCART->SCART going into the OUTPUT
then into your TV/MONITOR.
The box has a normal power adaptor [switchable, but switch removed for
safety purposes] which is directly wired into the Decoder.
The box is about 2Inchs high, 7Inchs long, 4Inchs wide.
Additional Information:
Certain Televisions etc may need the box to be adjusted, as sometimes
you may have a perfect picture on a MITSUBISHI and then on a SONY
it could be too light etc. Inside the box is 4 potentiometers
[Pots to most] these are RED, GREEN, BLUE and BRIGHTNESS/CLARITY.
A small trim on these will cure any weird colouring or brightness
problems [BEWARE this could void your warranty!]
