Before undertaking work for others in connection with which he may make improvements, plans, designs, inventions, or other records which may justify copyrights or patents, the engineer should enter into a positive agreement regarding the ownership.

Code is relevant when:
Engineer undertakes work which may involve improvements, plans, designs, inventions, or other records
Code is violated when:
Engineer does not enter into a positive agreement regarding ownership of improvements
OR
Engineer does not enter into a positive agreement regarding ownership of plans
OR
Engineer does not enter into a positive agreement regarding ownership of designs
OR
Engineer does not enter into a positive agreement regarding ownership of inventions
OR
Engineer does not enter into a positive agreement regarding ownership of other records
Code is not violated when
Engineer enters into a positive agreement regarding ownership of improvements
AND
Engineer enters into a positive agreement regarding ownership of plans
AND
Engineer enters into a positive agreement regarding ownership of designs
AND
Engineer enters into a positive agreement regarding ownership of inventions
AND
Engineer enters into a positive agreement regarding ownership of other records
