To Whom It May Concern:
I worked with Bruce McLaren for a number of years at a small software development firm, Carnegie Group, Inc (CGI).
I had the pleasure of working with Bruce both as a peer and as his immediate supervisor. I found Bruces work in both contexts to be of the highest quality. As a developer, he was thorough, consistent and creative. In actual fact, when Bruce was reporting to me, there was very little actual supervision to be done. Once we had agreed on a direction for the next part of our project, he was able to work completely on his own initiative. He worked well alone and as a part of a team. Bruce communicated effectively with our clients as well as with people within Carnegie Group and had a good rapport with everyone he worked with. He was one of the best performers at Carnegie Group, a company that had a great many talented software engineers and project managers.
Although I knew Bruce at a specific point in his career, I know that he has continued to add to his skills and qualifications. The positions he had since leaving CGI were at a much higher level than when I worked with him, nearly 10 years ago now. Because I think so highly of Bruce, I asked him to consider applying for a position at Gartner as a Research Director or Research Fellow. He declined to apply, as he wanted a more hands on role in software development. However, I would not hesitate to recommend him for a position at Gartner should he ever choose to apply here.
To summarize, I give Bruce the very highest of professional and personal recommendations. I would be happy to discuss his qualifications with any company where he is being considered for a position.
Sincerely,
Debra Logan
