Christopher Hogan's Home Page
- Background:
- I'm a Ph.D. student in the Language Technologies Institute of the School of Computer Science at Carnegie Mellon University.
- Interests:
- Language:
I am extremely interested in human language(s) and linguistics of all kinds, but especially in constructed langages (artificial human languages). Recently I've started to dabble in Historical Linguistics, too. I wouldn't want you to go away without looking at the LINGUIST List.
- Computer Science:
Computer Science is what I do all day. Actually, you might call it Computational Linguistics (or maybe just programming). Anyway, it would be remiss of me not to mention some of my favorite programming references, especially for LISP and Perl.
- Mathematics:
It is of course unnecessary to point out that mathematics is utterly cool. Rather than bore you with pages of proofs to this effect, I'll leave you to look at the exp(pi*sqrt(n)) page.
- Douglas Hofstadter:
And why shouldn't I shamelessly push my favorite authors on my homepage? Douglas Hofstadter is definitely the best, with his wonderful book, Gödel, Escher, Bach, a recursive romp through mathematics, language and computer science; in short, a compendium of all that I'm interested in.
