Coordinate Measurement Machine (CMM) or Copy Machine is Commonly
used in mold design measurement. This approach is usually called reverse
engineering which derives the approximate original design by measuring
the part which is already made. This technique is often used in aircraft
or auto motive industries. By directly getting point coordinates from the
part or model, the design can be recovered and more accurate machining
can be made.
