I am a fourth year Graduate Student, pursuing my Ph.D. in robotics at the The Robotics Institute , School of Computer Science , Carnegie Mellon University . I work with Prof. John Bares and Prof. Red Whittaker and am interested in Mobile Robots Design. Currently I am working on the Atacama Desert Trek.

I was born and brought up in Udaipur , one of the most beautiful places on the Earth. I moved to Bombay for my engineering education in 1986. I graduated from IIT Bombay with a B.Tech. in Mechanical Engineering in May 1990. I joined Boston University in Aug 1990 and graduate with a Master's in Mechanical Engineering in May 1992. I started my Ph.D. here at CMU in Aug 1993. And hopefully, I will graduate soon :-) (expecting to graduate by Nov. 1997).

Research Interests: Mobile Robots, Dynamics, Modeling, Analysis, Control, RF Communication, Automation, Educational Robotics

Robo-Org
GSO- The Graduate Student Organization (GSO) promote interaction among all graduate students and act as a representative body for graduate students. Throughout the year, the GSO sponsors various social and educational activities and events. I was the GSO-Rep for robotics, was one of the primary organizer of GSO orientation in 1995 and have been involved with several committes from time to time.
Graduate Student Presentation Grant Committee- The graduate student presentation award has been developed by the GSO and funded by the Provost's office to enable more CMU graduate students to make presentations at key conferences/exhibitions in their fields. If case you want to apply for a graduate student presentation grant or have any questions on that, please contact Kathleen (kmj+@andrew).
Cricket - I love playing cricket (not that I have played cricket for a while).
Movies- This is my another passion. I love watching movies, esp. old hindi movies. Here is a list of my favorite hindi movies .
Photography- In case you are getting bored, come to my place and check out my photo collection.
General Outdoor Activities- Camping, Treking, Rafting or whatever.
