Bio
Growing up I spent time in Pullman, WA; Morgantown, WV; and Potsdam, NY where I graduated from high school in 1997. I received my B.S. in Computer Science from Carnegie Mellon in 2001 after which I went to work for Green Hills Software in Santa Barbara, CA where I worked on the 68k/ColdFire compiler.I've been working toward my Ph.D. in Computer Science at Carnegie Mellon since August 2002. I was married to my wonderful wife Mary on January 3, 2004 in St. Irenaus Church, Oakmont, PA. Our absolutely perfect baby boy, Andrew Richard Koes, was born September 16, 2006. Remarkably, we were blessed with another perfect baby boy, Alexander Thomas Koes, June 26, 2009. We live in the Greenfield neighborhood (directions) of Pittsburgh with our Golden Retriever Lily.
I enjoy reading (in particular science-fiction and fantasy), playing cello
(I'm a founding member of the
All University Orchestra), cooking (but not as much as eating...) and
playing board games.
