Tastes more complicated than it is.
Quarter and slice the onions. Toss with peanut sauce in skillet until lightly coated. Cook over moderate heat for five minutes.
Cube tofu and marinate in peanut sauce. (If you have the foresight, marinating for more than five minutes wouldn't hurt.) Add, with sauce, to onions and cook over low heat for ten or fifteen minutes.
Serve on rice. If you're cooking rice for this rather than using what's on hand, I like two parts brown to one part black japonica.
