Lecture 22: Linear Logical Framework
We introduce the linear logical framework (LLF) and show how
examples previously discussed can be represented in it. While
LLF works quite well for the representation if imperative languages,
it is less successful for concurrent languages, basically because
the search semantics is inherently sequential.
Toward the end of the lecture we speculate a bit on how concurrency
might be reconciled with LLF without giving up a tractable equational
theory and incorrect operational semantics. This is currently
under investigation in joint work with Dave Walker and Iliano
Cervesato.
