Introduction

Introduction to Mobile Robotics will present a broad overview of the technologies and methods of mobile robotics. This course will provide this information using a historical context with the aim of giving you the tools to develop a mature perspective on the field of mobile robotics.

For you to get the most out of this class, you need to (1) attend class regularly; (2) read at least the mandatory reading handouts; (3) put your heart into the study questions and (4) devote significant time to your written research report and, most importantly, (5) participate in class discussions.

Your grade will be determined based on (1) your written responses to the study questions; (2) your research paper; (3) your final exam score; and (4) your classroom participation.

As a participant in this course, you will also compete in the SumoBot ladder, designed to teach you rapid robot building skills.


Announcements

NOTE: Classroom participation actually counts towards your grade in this class. Not showing up to class will have a measurable detrimental effect on your grade.

OFFICE HOURS for Illah Nourbakhsh will be Thursdays in NSH 3115 after class.
