Title: The Truth About Software Outsourcing

Program Overview:

Over the past few years, organizations are outsourcing software development and maintenance to offshore suppliers with mixed results. Some claim significant advantages but many routinely complain of low quality and missed delivery schedules when dealing with companies overseas.

Since outsourcing is fast approaching a $200 billion dollars business, executives are asking – “Which skills should be outsourced and which should be kept in house?” Most experts provide advice on keeping in-house the high-value skills, or the processes that are important to the business, but they leave out specific details so these questions remain mostly unanswered.

This one day executive seminar focuses on exploring both the truths and myths of software outsourcing and provides answers to questions executives should be asking. Our materials are based on benchmarking studies of twenty four major companies over the past 5 years. Our researchers have followed over one hundred projects from conception to completion, recorded their practices, processes, and successes as well as failures and compiled our findings in a set of lessons learned.
