Dunedin 10 February 2001Sleep! We slept in late while the rest of the house was busy. Sue showed a horse to a prospective buyer, Wendy gave Angus a bath before heading to Australia, and Fran had a netball game. It was a cloudy day with intermittent rain. We drove around the seven hills of Dunedin, which offered wonderful views of the town, surrounding countryside and water Sue's a magnificent tour guide. After a short rest, we toured Olveston House, the historical home of a Jewish family and a fine example of local upper-class material culture at the turn of the century. After the tour, we puttered about (stopping, thanks to an inspired suggestion by Kate, for some yummy ice cream) and headed back to the house for tea. |
