Wellington — 23 February 2001

The day started with breakfast in bed. We took another trip to the post office to send off more goodies to America, then I checked into the Information Centre to catch up on the latest developments in American sports on the web. We walked around downtown Wellington, spotted a CD store that we hadn’t seen yet. Once again we picked up lunch at Nui Expresso (yummy sesame noodle salad) and caught some live music in the civic square. This time it was a very good Afro-funk band. After lunch we took a short walk along the water. Still sore from yesterday’s scaling of Mount Victoria, we opted for more sedentary pursuits in the afternoon, opting to see a New Zealand film called "Stickmen" about pool hustlers in Wellington. An enjoyable, light film, featuring a scene shot just outside the movie house! We had an early dinner and headed off to the train station for our overnight journey back to Auckland.
