Easter : Why The Bunny Delivers The Eggs
(Story By Anastasia Piacentini, Photo At Phipps Conservatory)
1. Long long time ago, there was a barnyard, after the farmer went
to sleep, the chick and duck were painting eggs.
2. The eggs were for the good little children. The chick and duck
asked the other animals to deliver their eggs while children were
asleep, because they were busy to paint eggs.
3. The goat was the first to try out for the job. He said he could
deliver very fast. But his horns got caught in clotheslines, then he
knocked over garbage can. He woke up the children. The goat was not
good for the job.
4. The turtle was the next to try. She said she could deliver very
careful. But she moved too slowly. The turtle was not good for the
job.
5. The pigs were the next to try. They said they could be fast and
careful. But they couldn't hold the baskets high enough. They dragged
them through the mud. The pigs were not good for the job.
6. Just then a very quiet bunny, quickly hopped into the barnyard
and tryied out for the job. By morning all the eggs were delivered to
every children. The bunny was good for the job and continued to
deliver the eggs every year.
