From: hz225wu@unidui.uni-duisburg.de (Micaela Pantke) Date: Tue, 7 Sep 93 11:44:29 +0200 Ingredients: ------------ 2.5 kg mussels 3-4 large onions, cut in rings 50 g butter 1 pkg mussel spice (ready-mix) 1 cup water 2 cups white wine salt and pepper (to taste) bunch of parsley lemon slices Instructions: ------------- Water and clean mussels. Take them out of the water. Take a large pot (5 l or about 1 gallon) and melt 50 g butter. Add water, wine, mussel spices, salt and pepper. Boil shortly and add the drained mussels. Boil about 10-20 minutes. Shake the pot several times during the cooking time. The mussels are ready when all of the mussels have opened. Add parsley when the cooking is finished. Serve with slices of lemon and slices of toasted white bread.
