I usually measure by eye and taste real butter, white sugar, cinnemon, nutmeg and about a tsp of vanilla flavoring. peel and cut sweet potatos or yams put in pot cover half way with water add sugar to taste, about a tsp of cinnemon, nutmeg, vanilla flavoring and butter. boil until tender about 30mins ( maybe less) then you transfer to a baking dish with a little juice sprinkle with marshmellow and bake until marshmellows melt. I usually skip the marshmellows and we eat them after they are boiled.
