Basic Physical Principle / How It Works:The Pneumatic Water Balloon Launcher operates on the principles of pneumatics, pressure, and illustrates trajectory and projectile motion. The launcher consists of a main cylinder fitted with a piston and a launcher tube. The launcher tube is attached by a flexible coupling; this allows the launcher to be redirected at different angles. Once the projectile (ideally a small water balloon) is loaded into the chamber, the child lifts the main piston in order to draw in air. Lastly, the child jumps on the piston, forcing it downward and ejecting the projectile.

Target Market / Safety:The Pneumatic Launcher is aimed at an audience over the age of 5. It is intended as a summertime, poolside or lawn toy. The Toy is durable and made of thick plastic except for the coupling. The coupling will be made out of a flexible rubber substance. The toy is not capable of projecting water balloons or any other projectiles at a high velocity and is safe for children to use unsupervised.
