Plinko Bank
This toy is a bank that teaches kids about probability and
responsible money habits. It features a door that slides in and
out to allow for an accumulation of coins and a visual
representation of the Bell Curve.
Key features include:
- Ability to stop coins from going into bank in order to see the
Bell Curve emerge
- Storage for at least $10 in change
Thoughts on construction:
- The sides and backing would be made out of a wood as to be
sturdy and secure. This could as be sold as a kit to be built
by families as its construction is not too difficult
- The front would be made out of a clear plastic sheet, most likely
a clear acryclic or plexiglass with a Bell Curve superimposed to help
illustrate the idea of normalized behavior of the coins
- In terms of durability, the overall design goal is to be sturdy
as it is a bank. The front would be supported by the pegs so it is
unlikely that it would break, even under medium to severe conditions
- As there are few moving parts, this toy is relatively safe. The coins
that are placed into the bank are more likely to be a choking hazard than
any part of the bank itself
