We are expanding our team (hiring post-docs, software engineer, research scientist, and program/project manager) at Carnegie Mellon University based across the Machine Learning Department and the Heinz College of Information Systems and Public Policy focused on using Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, and Data Science to have a positive impact on society and make it more fair and equitable.
We're building an interdisciplinary group spanning computer science, statistics, and social sciences to work at the intersection of research, practice, and education to improve society and public policy in close collaboration with local, national, and international governments and non-profits.
Help create overall program strategy, build and maintain programs and partnerships with governments and non-profits, and manage collaborative projects.
Ideal candidates will have experience working with governments and/or non-profits, leading/managing teams, and familiarity with data analytics
Lead research efforts at the intersection of machine learning and social science/public policy, help run educational/training programs, and lead applied projects with governments and non-profits.
Ideal candidates have a PhD and 3+ years of industry experience related to AI/ML/Data Science
Conduct machine learning research in ML fairness/bias and explainability, work on applied research projects, and help lead educational/training programs.
Ideal candidates have a recent PhD in a data science related field including CS, Stats, Quantitative Social Sciences
Help build open source machine learning software and infrastructure for our applied projects, research, and training
.Ideal candidates have a strong Python background and expertise in managing databases and AWS infrastructure.
