I am a project scientist at the Language Technology Institute, Interactive Systems Labs, Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, USA .
I organize data collections and evaluations for speech and communication research projects and I manage our team of annotators and lab assistants.

Project Work:

*   Development of transcription and annotation systems and transcription tools

Research:

*   Evaluation of speech databases
 

*   Evaluation of ASR applications

*   Pronunciation variants of currently spoken German

*   Features of spontaneous speech

*   Dialectal variants in German

*   Emotion in multiparty conversation

Development:

*   TransEdit: A Windows application for the convenient transcription of speech files, especially multi channel recordings. Audio files are displayed in parallel.
