- Prefetch: By default, it is set to non-prefetch. If it is allowed, the system will fetch contents of all the embedded hyperlinks in the current page to local disk. So it will speed up your browsing when you have a low-band network connection or the servers are not fast. On the other hand, because there are lots of threads running on your machine, it will affect the browser's running. Be careful to use this function.
- Online: By default, it is set to online browsing. If you have downloaded some sites to your local disk, you can set turn off online browsing. The system look for the pages in the local disk at first, if it can't find, go outside to fetch those pages. When the system is set to offline browsing, it will prompt you the downloaded URLs in your local disk as following:

- Animation: By default, the system allows animation gif file. If you think that the animation gifs affect the browser running, you can disable the animation gif by un-check this function.
- Access: You can change the Proxy of WebMate, add or delete the hosts that can access the WebMate system.

- Alias

Alias is a short name to some URL and you can input an alias to the "Location" input field and get the page of the corresponding URL. You can delete, edit, or add an alias. For example, enter the alias "java api" (in some browsers, you should enter "java+api" although the alias is defined "java api". So it is a good way to replace the space with "+" when enter to the "Location") in the "Location" input field.
