summer reading et al.
I'm in the middle of an HTML overhaul (content and compliance.)
Most of my weblet has been updated since I graduated MIT and moved to
CMU. This part has not, yet: the old page is
still around. You are reading the temporary replacement.
For the curious, here's a list of what I picked up over the summer
(I know you don't really care, I just wanted to have all the
links handy. Some are fan-maintained, some are author-maintained.)
- The Deed of Paksennarion - Moon
- Marianne, the M..., and the M... trilogy (except I haven't found
the third book yet) -
Tepper
- various Miles Vorkosigan books -
Bujold
- a juvenile by William Sleator, whose name sounds vaguely
familiar to people in the CMU CS department...
- Twenty Years After - Dumas
("One of these things is not like the others..."
It's Brust's
fault. I wonder how many other people this has happened to.)
- Nifft the Lean
- Stand on Zanzibar
- Nobody's Son
- The List of 7 (sort of Arthur-Conan-Doyle-meets-Twin-Peaks. weird.)
- various Honor Harrington books - Weber
- The Long Run - DKM
- Tripoint
Fortress in the Eye of Time
- Cherryh
- The Dubious Hills
Tam Lin
- Dean
- Dancing With Myself - Sheffield
- Applied Cryp. (that red book) - Schneier
- ... several more I need to add, but they are now packed..
- (and I'm trying to learn Morse code in between, but that's not a book.)
