Abstract: Simulink and Stateflow are a are part of the toolset that is offered by MathWorks for the design of model-based control systems. As a matter of fact Simulink/Stateflow has become the de-facto standard in the industrial process control and embedded systems design. In this field one will eventually encounter Simulink/Stateflow models as a way to define problems in the domain. This brief introduction aims therefore yo provide insight in the basic ideas of Simulink/Stateflow and the (hybrid) nature of the models.
