I received a Master Degree at the <A HREF="http://www.lili.uni-bielefeld.de/"> Department for Linguistics and Literary Science</A> in Computational Linguistics. Originally I am from <A HREF=""> R&uuml;then </A> which is a very nice town in the Sauerland. <BR>

In 1992 I moved to <A HREF="http://www.pittsburgh.net/"> Pittsburgh </A> to get a Phd in Computational Linguistics at <A HREF="http://www.cmu.edu/ "> Carnegie Mellon University</A>. My advisor is <A HREF="http://www.is.cs.cmu.edu/who_is_who/visible/scien/Alex_Waibel.html"> Alex Waibel</A> and I work in the <A HREF="http://www.is.cs.cmu.edu/ISL.html"> Interactive Systems Laboratories</A>. Within this group I work on the interaction
of different linguistic levels. In particular, I am interested in the dependencies of higher linguistic
levels on the speech recognition process. I am also interested how humans encode emotions in speech.
Finally, I am intersted in  <A HREF="http://www.compling.hu-berlin.de/HPSG/"> HPSG</A>.
