Well, I studied at the Universiy of Bielefeld, Germany.
In case you do not know Bielefeld, click here.
I received a Master Degree at the Department for Linguistics and Literary Science in Computational Linguistics. Originally I am from Rüthen which is a very nice town in the Sauerland.
In 1992 I moved to Pittsburgh to get a Phd in Computational Linguistics at Carnegie Mellon University. My advisor is Alex Waibel and I work in the Interactive Systems Laboratories. Within this group I work on the interaction
of different linguistic levels. In particular, I am interested in the dependencies of higher linguistic
levels on the speech recognition process. I am also interested how humans encode emotions in speech.
Finally, I am intersted in HPSG.
