Links: the journals
It was just way too inconvenient to do my daily journal run when they were
in the middle of the links page like that, and besides, I found the Audience
web ring and liked the idea.

one-woman focus
group
The journal that got me started on reading journals, and eventually
writing one. I've known Heather since my first year of college (almost
7 years now. Eep!) and was thrilled when she started one-woman focus group.
Since we live several states apart, we don't get to see each other or talk
too often, but now I feel so much more connected to her life. In some ways,
I think I have more access to the things she's thinking about through the
journal than I did when we lived in the same house.
-
nobody knows anything
Heather's first recommendation. This is apparently one of the
"old-time", famous journals. I don't really follow the journaling scene
proper, but I can see why nka would earn status in a community; the writing
is excellent, witty and interesting.
-
first person particular
I don't remember which journal this was recommended in; I don't think
it is one I still read. One of the things I love about this journal is
she keeps surprising me; my picture of her life and world just keeps getting
deeper.

journal of
a writing man
I don't understand his poetry, but his journal is very entertaining.
It has a lovely wry flavor.
-
Lucidity
Viv's recommendation. Her prose is just lovely.
-
more than this
I dig her sense of humor (the "april 1" edition of the journal was rather...epic.)
The tentative add-ons (i.e., the ones I'm just starting to read and
am not addicted to yet.)
The Garden Journals:
The Pittsburgh journals:
The Private Parts
artist's sketchbook webring I am intrigued with, and am slowly exploring.
It does give me lots of ideas for how I could improve my own journal.
