Comet Utsunomiya (C/2002 F1)
Comet Utsunomiya (C/2002 F1)
2002/5/4 21:50 EDT The comet is very close to Mercury, thus easy to find. In my 8" Dob, it is quite faint (because the sky is not dark yet) and more or less round with no hint of a tail. However in Tom Reiland's 16" Dob a short tail can be seen pointing towards northeast. In the drawing north is up and west is right. At the time the comet is at Right ascension: 4h 13m 49.9s Declination: +22d 32' 33".
