Mercury over downtown Pittsburgh

2000/6/9 9:53pm EDT. 2 second exposure on kodak 400 max film with 135mm/f2.8 lens. Mercury's altitude was 10 degrees and its magnitude was 0.6.

2000/6/9 Mercury has phases similar to the moon. The seeing was not great at the time with a lot of air turbulence. These two images with momentary steady seeing were selected from several dozen frames. Afocal camcorder image through 8" Dob, 25mm eyepiece.
