This project is an automata depicting a rabbit being chased by a dog. As the chase plays out, a cat appears in front of the dog, causing the chase to be temporarily halted as the dog decides whether he wants to cross the cat. The idea for the automata came from a Celtic songs called "The Hare’s Lament" which tells the story of a rabbit being pursued by hunting dogs. The SolidWorks design uses a ring gear that works with a spur gear to provide motion.
