The fall premiere dates of Buffy and Roswell have been moved up by one week: Buffy the Vampire Slayer premieres on UPN on 2 October 2001; Roswell on 9 October 2001.

There will be no more Buffy–Angel crossovers.

The WB has ordered seven episodes of No Ordinary Girl, an hour-long comedy–drama. The series, about 16-year-old Paige and her family, is meant to air during summer 2002, and is produce by the team that developed The Wonder Years,

The 22 episodes of Felicity's fourth season will be split into three story arcs. The first arc will air from fall through December. The show will go on hiatus until the spring, while Glory Days airs in its stead. The spring arc will end with Felicity being graduated. After a short break, the show will return during the summer with a short, four-episode arc focusing on the character's post-graduation life.

The WB's ElimiDate Deluxe will air in parallel with the syndicated ElimiDate. The WB's version will differ by taking place in exotic locales and having the contestents compete adverturous activities.

Anthony Stewart Head and Joss Whedon are developing a Buffy the Vampire Slayer spin-off, tentatively called The Watcher, focusing on the character Giles for the BBC.

Actress Rose McGowan has joined the cast of Charmed to replace departing Shannon Doherty. McGowan will play a long-lost, never-known-about youngest Halliwell sister. According to Aaron Spelling: “She's going to be the long-lost little sister Alyssa and Holly never knew they had. And wait until you see what we came up with to explain why she's been lost: Nobody ever knew she existed.”

The WB's previously announced Maybe I'm Adopted has been retitled to Maybe It's Me.

The WB has ordered the comedies Cedric the Coach and The (Mis)Adventures of Fiona Plum for mid-season. Seven episodes of Cedric the Coach, about a divorced dad who is coach the "losingest" team in the NBA, have been ordered. Nine episodes of The (Mis)Adventures of Fiona Plum, about a spoiled-witch forced to be nanny for human children, have been ordered.

The popular Japanese animated series Yu-gi-oh! will air on Kids' WB! Saturday mornings this fall. "Based on the comic book series, follows the adventures of Yugi, a smaller than average high school student -- and an easy target for bullies. When his grandfather, a local game shop manager, gives him an ancient Egyptian riddle called the "Millennium Puzzle," and Yugi pieces it together, he unexpectedly becomes the powerful "Game King," an alter-ego. When Yugi gets into sticky situations, the "Game King" takes over and protects Yugi and his friends. The game is on...as Yugi plays games to defeat his monster rivals."

The WB has renewed Charmed for three more seasons (the 2001–02, 2002–03, and 2003–04 seasons). 7th Heaven and Sabrina the Teenage Witch have been renewed for the 2001–02 and 2002–03 seasons.

The WB announced its fall schedule today. Full details can be found at The WB Website. What follows is a summary. (New shows are in yellow, returning shows in new time slots are in pink.

New experiences and friendships await as the gang begin university life in Boston.

Felicity

The start of her senior year sees Felicity coping with the consequences of a summer love, and Noel returning to New York after his Internet venture falls through.

For Your Love

When this comedy returns mid-season, Malena and Mel will be panicing with there new baby. Sherri and Dean will eventually reconcile, but with discord present in all three couples, one of marriages will eventually end in divorce.

Gilmore Girls

The struggles in Life and Love of the mother and daugther Lorelais continue.

Nikki

Dwight and Nikki continue to pursue their dreams, while also attempting to earn additional money by becoming apartment managers.

Popstars 2

Witness the formation of a second pop group, from audition to stardom. The second time around promises a "surprsing new spin."

Sabrina the Teenage Witch

Sabrina begins her sophomore year in college and takes an intership at the local newspaper.

7th Heaven

Life at in the Camden's household continues at its usual frantic pace as Mary and Lucy are haunted by continuing questions of love and marriage.

The Steve Harvey Show

The new season sees Regina and Steve coping as a couple, Cedric and Lovita dealing with having a baby, and Lydia, Romeo, and Bulleted coping as high school seniors and impending graduation.

New Shows

Deep in the Heart

Reba McEntire is Reba Hart, a Texas soccer mom whose life and family fall apart around her in this half-hour comedy.

Elimidate Deluxe

In this half-hour game show, each week a lucky contestent will go on an all-day dream date with four candidates at once, eliminating "candid-dates" during the process. Surprise celebrity guests ocassionally join the competition.

Raising Dad

Bob Saget returns as a widower rasing two young daughters with a bit of help from his live-in father. Family life is further stressed by the fact that he is the English teacher at his daughters' high school.

Lost in the U.S.A.

Each week in this reality-based game show, four teams will run a 48-hour competition in which they could end up any where in the U.S.A. Each team is equipped with an RV, but stripped of cash and credit. Surviving teams continue to the next episode.

Maybe I'm Adopted

Fifteen year-old Molly Stages lives in the smallest town in the smallest state, struggles to come of age while dealing with her eccentric family. Pop-up graphics complement Molly's sardonic naration.

Men, Women, & Dogs

Comedy about four guys bound by their pet dogs, in search love and success.

Off Centre

American Mike and British Euan, former roommates at Oxford, are now roommates in New York City. Their contradictoray personalities are put to the test as the try to moderate their womanizing ways.

Smallville

The coming-of-age story of a boy who would be a superhero: Clark Kent.

A struggling rock band comes into possession of a magic amulet that allows them to see the dead, whom they are now called upon to help into the afterlife.

Glory Days

A new drama from Kevin Williamson. An author who's first novel was a best-seller turned hit movie—six years ago—returns to his childhood home for inspiration for his yet-to-be-written second novel. Problem is he used the personal lives of his townspeople for his first book, and they are a bit annoyed.

No Boundaries

An extreme reality adventure game in which 15 contestents must compete their way across varried terrain and obstacles over 30 days.

A Young Person's Guide to Becoming a Rock Star

Based on a British sitcom of the same name, this comedy focuses on Jace, son of a aging Heavy Metal dinosaur (played by Johnny Rotten), and his rock band Slip Dog.

Actress Shannon Doherty has left the cast of Charmed.

Summer scheduling for The WB includes back-to-back Sabrina the Teenage Witch episodes follwed by back-to-back Pop Stars episodes on Friday nights. Back-to-back episodes of 7th Heaven are scheduled for Mondays. The WB is planning to launch a movie night in June; no day has yet been picked, but Tuesday or Wednesday are the likely choices. The WB is borrowing movie rights from cable channel TNN, also owned by AOL Time Warner, including The Breakfast Club, Ferris Bueller's Day Off, and I Know What You Did Last Summer.

25 April 2001

The season finale "The Gift" will be the 100th episode of Buffy the Vampire Slayer. The episode airs on 22 May and guest stars Joel Grey.

The big news this week is that Buffy the Vampire Slayer will be moving to UPN next season. UPN has placed as 44-episode order—two seasons worth—for the series, at $2.3 million per episode. The WB's highest offer was reportedly $1.8 million. 20th Century Fox Television, the producer of the series, claims that The WB did not share their vision for the future of the series while UPN did. This comes after a drawn-out battle for the rights to the show that began in 1999. The fate of Angel is still unknown, although UPN has agreed to pay over $1 million an episode for two years if The WB cancels the sibling series.

While 20th Century Fox Television insists the move is solely about the economics of the program, The WB is crying foul. They suggest that the studio has an agenda motivated by the acquisition of Chris Craft's broadcasting arm by News Corp, the studio's parent company. Chris Craft's stations are all UPN affiliates. The WB also suggests that News Corp. may purchase some or all of UPN in the near future.

For Your Love returned on 11 March. A total of 12 new episodes will air before the end of the season in May. The WB will air 20 new episodes of the series during the 2001–02 season.

The WB may be reviving the old series That's Incredible, which featured extreme stunts, freak show performances, and informative segments on topics such as medical breakthroughs.

Kids WB! has ordered 52 episodes of a new version of the Pokémon franchise: Pokémon: Johto League Champions, which is scheduled to air weekdays at 3:30pm and Saturdays at 8:30 and 10am. Kids WB! has also ordered three other new series for the 2001–02 season: The Nightmare Room, a live-action series based on R.L. Stine's books; The Mummy, an animated series based on the Universal film franchise; and Cubix, a 3D-computer-animated series. Rescue Heroes: Global Response Team, which aired on CBS last year, has been revamped and will air on Friday mornings. Sherlock Holmes in the 22nd Century, which aired on Fox Kids in 1999, will run on Kids! WB weekdays. Additional episodes of Max Steel and The Zeta Project have also been ordered. A new animated series Phantom Investigators has also been ordered, but not scheduled yet. Static Shock, Jackie Chan Adventures, X-Men: Evolution, Batman Beyond, and CardCaptors will return. Men in Black, Detention, Sylvester & Tweety Mysteries, and Generation O! will not return.

The PJs is facing a grim future. While The WB Television Network has ordered 13 episodes of the seriers for the 2001–02 season, Imagine Television's production partner, Warner Bros. Television is not going to continuing producing the series. Paramount Television has expressed an interest in becoming Imagine's partner, but only if a viable syndication deal can be produced.

10 December 2000

The WB has ordered additional episodes of Felicity (6 episodes, 17 total), Grosse Pointe (4 episodes), Hype (4 episodes), Roswell (9 episodes, 22 total), Gilmore Girls (9 episodes, 22 total), and Nikki (9 episodes, 22 total). The unusual orders—six and four episodes—are because the network is having too much success and isn't sure of how to actually air all the popular programs.

The WB has decided not to excerise its option to drop Sabrina, the Teenage Witch after this season. This means it will air on The WB through at least the end of 2001–02 season.

Popstars debuts with a one-hour special on Friday, January 12 at 9:00pm. Its regular timeslot will be 8:30pm Friday.

Felicity airs its "Winter Finale" on December 13. On December 20, the first part of a two-part Gilmore Girls will air in its stead. On December 27 and January 3, two back-to-back episodes of Grosse Pointe will air during the time slot; Grosse Pointe will continue to air during its regular Sunday time slot as well. Finally, on January 10, Jack & Jill returns for 13 episodes. The Spring return date for Felicity is not yet set.

Kevin Williamson of Scream and Dawson's Creek fame is developing a drama for The WB about a writer who burns out and returns to his home town.

5 November 2000

The WB has ordered 9 more episodes of Nikki for a complete season of 22 episodes.

Ryan Murphy, creator of Popular, is developing a pilot for an hour-long drama More about a trio of hip men who help fulfill women's requests and fantasies. The project is aimed for the Fall 2001 season.

31 October 2000

Kids' WB! has ordered 13 more episodes of Jackie Chan Adventures, ensuring it a second season in fall 2001.

Starting November 3rd, The WB will shuffle around the Friday and Sunday night schedules. Grosse Point will move to 9:30pm Sundays, bumping Hype and Nikki to 8:30 and 9:00pm, respectively. To make room on Sundays, For Your Love is being put on hiatus until January, when The Jamie Foxx Show will retire after its 100th episode. On Fridays, Grosse Pointe will be replaced by Sabrina the Teenage Witch episodes from last season until January, when Popstars debuts. Finally, Hype will be cutting down on the scatalogical humor.

New episodes of The PJs will debut in February. Under the new lineup, ``Hype'' has been pushed back to 8:30 p.m. Concurrent with its earlier slot, sources say the show plans to cut back on its use of ``gross-out'' humor.

The WB is developing a remake of the 1970s Sid and Marty Krofft series Electra Woman and Dyna Girl.

A potential spin-off of Sabrina, the Teenage Witch will be introduced during the 15th episode. Sabrina's bad witch cousin is sent to live with her aunts, who cannot control her, so they send her to boarding school for mischievous witches and warlocks. The episode will serve as a pilot for a potential fall 2001 series.

15 October 2000

The WB is allowing its affiliates to air the Sunday night lineup one hour later than usual. So far, 44 affiliates have decided to do so.

David Dukes, who played Mr. McPhee on Dawson's Creek, died last week at the age of 55.

28 September 2000

The WB has ordered 13 episodes of an hour-long drama about a fifteen year-old Clark Kent, a.k.a. Superman. With the working title "Teenage Clark Kent Project," the series is to air during the 2001–02 season. Set in the present day, the show will explore Clark's struggle with his new-found powers, and will feature the familar characters of Lex Luthor and Lois Lane.

The WB has ordered a second season of the animated comedy Baby Blues. The network has ordered 13 episodes, but also has five unaired episodes ready to show.

3 September 2000

Meredith Monroe is leaving Dawson's Creek. She will leave by the seventh episode, when her character, Andie, leaves for an Ivy League college.

The WB has rearranged the previously announced Sunday night schedule for the fall season. It is now

The new Friday night begins on 22 September. Buffy and Angel begin their new season on 26 September. The rest of the new season begins on 2 October.

20 August 2000

The new season of The PJs, previously on Fox, begins at 8:30pm on Friday, 8 September. The series debuts on its normal Sunday night on 10 September, airing at 8:30pm instead of it's planned 7:00pm until the start of the fall season. It will also have a bonus airing on at 8:30pm on Friday, 15 September.

6 August 2000

Clare Kramer will have a recurring role on Buffy, the Vampire Slayer as the newest arch enemy of Buffy. Michelle Trachtenberg also joins the cast this fall, playing a psychic girl who becomes like a sister to Buffy.

Aaron Spelling is reportedly unhappy about Grosse Point, a spoof of Beverly Hills, 90210 created by Darren Star (who created Beverly Hills, 90210.

Danny, a cast member of MTV's The Real World New Orleans will appear in the season premiere of Dawson's Creek as a love interest for Andie. Two additional characters will also be making appearances: Sasha Alexander will play Pacey's sister Gretchen, who will be a love interest for Dawson; a character named Drew will visit Jen and exert a bad influence.

Warner Bros. Online is producing 25 original 30-second sketches called "Oblong Moments" to promote the animated comedy The Oblongs. The WB has ordered 13 episodes of the series, which premieres in 2001.

Kids WB! will air 52 episodes of Pokémon: The Joto Journeys on weekends and weekdays beginning this fall.

Jumping on the reality bandwagon, The WB has ordered 13 episodes of Popstars for midseason. Based on a popular New Zealander series, it follows the the selection of five young women to be members of an all-girl pop group. The series is set to premiere in January 2001.

By sponsoring Young Americans, Coca-Cola gets at least three commercials per episode, and a mention in every advertisement for the program. The WB has ordered six episodes of the series.

Fall 2000 Season

On Wednesday night's, Felicity and Jack & Jill will share the 9:00pm time slot. Felicity will air 11 episodes, followed by 13 episodes of Jack & Jill.

The PJs is a cast-off from the Fox network, while Sabrina the Teenage Witch is originally from ABC.

Gilmore Girls

Stars Edward Herrmann and Lauren Graham (Conrad Bloom) in a drama about a thirtysomething single mom raising her teenage daughter in a small town in Connecticut.

Gross Pointer

Spoof of behind-the-scenes happenings at a fictional nighttime soap opera, starring Lindsay Sloane (Sabrina, the Teenage Witch) and Kyle Howard (House Arrest), with guest spots by stars like William Ragsdale (Herman's Head) and Joely Fisher (Ellen).

Hype

Described as an "edgy" improvisational sketch comedy series from MAD TV alumni. Stars Jennifer Elise Cox (The Brady Bunch Movie), is written by former Saturday Night Live star Terry Sweeney and is executive produced by Brian Robbins (Varsity Blues).

Nikki

Executive producer Bruce Helford's (The Drew Carey Show) sitcom about a Vegas showgirl (Unhappily Ever After's Nikki Cox) who marries a professional wrestler.

Mid-season replacements include: Dead Last, The Oblongs, and a variety show hosted by Jamie Foxx.

Felicity, Jack amp; Jill, Roswell have 13 episode orders. Popular has a 22 episode order.

13 Episodes of Baby Blues, a animated comedy based on the comic strip, and eight episodes of Young Americans are set to air this summer, beginning in July.

The comedy American Family, about a group of friends in a New York boarding house, will premeire mid-season, rather than in the fall. The network has a 13 episode commitment.

The WB is close to renewing The Jamie Foxx Show for a fifth season. The Steve Harvey show has also been renewed.

Mel Harris plays the title role in Haley Wagner: Star a sitcom pilot purchased by The WB. The series is about a former-child star trying to cope with a faded career.

The WB has acquired Sabrina, The Teenage Witch. The deal is for 22 episodes each for the 2000–01 and 2001–02 seasons. If certains ratings are not met, the contract can be reduced to one season.

Pokémon, Batman Beyond, Men in Black, and Max Steel will return this fall. More first-run episodes will be aired on Fridays, in a "Fraturday" block.

The WB may acquire Sabrina, The Teenage Witch next fall, as ABC and Viacom are having a disbute over renewel.

Paramount Stations Group and Acme Communications, the television station owning divisions of Viacom and Time–Warner respectively, have entered into a deal where PSG stations will show some The WB programming, and the Acme stations will show some UPN programming in marketes where they don't directly compete. The UPN stations that will carry The WB programming are in Columbus, Ohio; West Palm Beach, Florida; and Providence, Rhode Island. The WB stations that will carry UPN programming are in St. Louis, Knoxville, and Champaign.

The WB is looking to add more comedies and family shows next season. Family dramas in development include Finally Home about a couple that adopts three teenagers, and Gilmore Girls about a single mother and her teenage daughter.

The Steve Harvey Show will be renewed for a full fifth season (22 episodes).

Fox Family Channel will begin airing 7th Heaven in Fall of 2002. The cable channel has exclusive rights for a minimum of 132 episodes.

Greg Daniels, executive producer of King of the Hill is developing a live-action sitcom for The WB's 2000-01 season.

2 March 2000

Schedule changes come on April 9th. Felicity will move to 9:00pm Wednesdays; Roswwell will move to 9:00pm Mondays; the new drama D.C. will air at 8:00pm Sundays; Movie Stars returns at 9:00pm Sundays; and Zoe… returns at 9:30pm Sundays.

The WB May order 13 episodes of The PJs for the 2000 season. The order would also include 22 previously aired episodes.

Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel have each been given a 22 episode order for the 2000-01 season.

17 February 2000

Brutally Normal and Zoe… have been removed from the schedule. Reruns of Popular will replace them, itself being replaced by the political drama DC later on. Zoe… will return in a new timeslot later in the Spring.

13 February 2000

The WB has ordered two rock band oriented pilots. The adventures of a struggling rock band is the subject of Young Person's Guide To Being a Rock Star. The Insouls is about rock musicians who have supernatural visitors.

Faith returns on the 22 and 29 February episodes of Buffy the Vampire Slayer. In a story-line spread over the two episodes ("This Year's Girl" and "Who Are You?"), Faith awakens from her coma and seeks revenge on Buffy. Later this Spring, Faith will appear on an episode of Angel, where she is hired by the law firm of Wolfram & Hart to kill Angel.

5 February 2000

The has ordered pilots for three dramatic series for the fall. Day One is based on the British series The Last Train and a "post-apocalyptic serial." Gilmore Girls is a mother–daughter drama, and Learning Curve focuses on a young high school teacher.

The WB made its first profits during the fourth quarter of 1999. It made a profit of $3 million, compared to a $15 million loss in fourth quarter 1998.

John Wells of ER, The West Wing, and Third Watch, is developing a show for the fall 2001 season. Alexa Junge of Friends is developing a sit-com for The WB. Bruce Helford of The Drew Carey Show and Norm is working on two series for The WB, one of which is a comedy centered around "Nikki Cox as a recently married Las Vegas dancer."

Hype, a sketch comedy program from MAD TV writers, is expected to debut in Fall 2000. The cast includes Michael Roof and Frank Caliendo. Sketches will target pop culture rather than politics.

13 December 1999

The WB may order 8 episodes Young Americans, yet another teen drama. The series would launch during the summer after being set up by the last three episodes of Dawson's Creek. The series would be set at a pair of private boy's and girl's boarding schools and the town in which they reside.

10 December 1999

Sony Pictures, producer of Dawson's Creek has teamed up with WTAA to market a line of Dawson's Creek bottled water.

The WB has decided not to order a full season (22 vs. 13) episodes of Safe Harbor. Contenders for its timeslot are returning mid-season comidies Movie Stars and Zoe (formally Zoe, Duncan, Jack and Jane, and the comedy Brutally Normal.

2 December 1999

The WB has shelved DC, a drama about interns working in Washington, DC. The 6 episodes will air some time over the summer. The series was shelved because the network expected to need it as a mid-season replacement, but then it turned out it didn't need it.

The WB has ordered a full season of Jack & Jill.

Robin Dunne will join the cast of Dawson's Creek in late December or early January. He will play a love interest for Katie Holme's Joey.

The WB's mid-season comedy Brutally Normal has begun production. The show is about four suburban high-schoolers, and features vignettes of the characters fantasies.

Brian Krause has joined the Charmed cast. His character will further develop his relationship with Holly Marie Combs' character.

Darren Star, creator of Beverly Hills, 90210 and Sex in the City is creating a new sit-com for The WB's 2000-2001 season. The show will be aimed at the twenty-something market.

The WB and John Gatins, Brian Robbins, and Michael Tollin, of Varisty Blues, are working on a new drama about a 22-year-old first-year high school teacher.

The WB and Peter Segal and Fred Wolf, of Tommy Boy, are working a new comedy about a group of twenty-somethings trying to break into Hollywood.

Seth Green may be leaving Buffy, The Vampire Slayer. He has completed work on the first six episodes of the season, but is now off working on films. The producers have not yet decided whether his character, Oz, will return.

Harry Elfton and Deborah Kaplan (writers of Can't Hardly Wait) are developing a tean drama for The WB's 2000-01 season.

Harold Ramis is developing two pilots for The WB. The first is based on real life fraud investigator for a school system. The second is a comedy based on his and his producing partner's, Arnie Rissman, college experiences.

The Season Finale of Buffy The Vampire Slayer, which aired against the MLB All-Star Game, pulled an 4.4 rating (8% share). The remaining episode, Earshot, is still unscheduled, but will probably air towards the end of September.

The previously announced fall series The Downtowners, has been renamed Mission Hill to avoid confusion with a similarly named MTV program.

Kevin Williamson is leaving Dawson's Creek.

Nikki Cox will return to The WB line-up in 2000. Nick Turturro will leave NYPD Blue early next season, to star in a new comedy on The WB for fall 2000.

The WB has ordered a military school sit-com as a midseason replacement.

Britney Spears will appear in a 3-episode story arc during next season of Dawson's Creek. She will not be playing herself.

Jamie Luner is in the pilot for an action serires called The Force for the WB network, in which she plays an investigator.

Charmed, Felicity, and Buffy The Vampire Slayer have been renewed for the 1999-00 TV season.

Charisma Carpenter will be leaving Buffy The Vampire Slayer to become a regular on the spinoff Angel, although she make occasional guest appearances on her former show. The WB has ordered 13 episodes of the series.

The Kids' WB! has ordered 52 new episodes of Pokémon and Batman Beyond for the 1999-00 season. Pokémon will be stripped during the week, and air on Saturdays as well. Batman Beyond will air at least twice weekly, and again on Saturdays. The network's first live-action children's program, On The Ropes, will debut in the fall, focusing on cliques in a high school where wrestling is big. The animated Detention, which focuses on the antics of eight preteens who are regularly in detention, will also debt in the fall. The tentative fall Kids WB! schedule is:

Kids WB! has picked up the currently syndicated series Pokemon, based on the Game Boy game of the same name. Beginning next month, 12 new episodes will air as part of the Saturday morning programming. Kids WB! has ordered 52 original episodes to starting in the fall, when the series will air six days a week.

Starting next weekend, Kids WB will combine Animaniacs, Pinky & The Brain, Pinky Elmyra & The Brain, Sylvester & Tweety, and Bugs 'N' Daffy into one 1 hour show, The Big Cartoonie Show.

The WB has ordered a pilot for DC (formally Interns) about congressional interns in Washington, DC. Instead of focusing on politics, the drama will explore the ideals and moral choices of young Senate aides, lobbyists, cable news producers and Supreme Court clerks, as well as the consequences their actions have on the wider world.

Batman Beyond premieres on Sunday, January 10 at 7:00pm with a one-hour special. On Saturday, January 16, it debuts on Kids WB! with a one hour slot. It moves to it's nornal time (9:30am) on January 23.

The character of Cordelia Chase will move to the Buffy spin-off Angel along with Angel.

The Parent 'Hood will be returning as a mid-season replacement this winter. This will definately be the sit-com's last season.

Zoe, Duncan, Jack & Jane premieres on Sunday, January 17, at 9:00pm; Unhappily Ever After will move to 9:30pm.

Seventeen magazine and The WB have joined forces to pruduce several one-hour specials. The first one aires on September 8th, and is called Seventeen: The Faces of the Fall. It will be hosted by Joshua Jackson and Shannen Doherty.

July 26, 1998

This isn't exactly new news, but whatever. The character Abby, played by Monica Keena, from the "Breakfast Club" episode will become a series regular this fall. Two new characters, Andie and Jack, possibly siblings, will be added to the show as well. Andie is supposedly a "Meg Ryan" type, and Jack knows as much about books and art as Dawson knows about film.

Bumper Robinson (of the short-lived Three) stars in the upcoming sit-com Guys as a single-guy whose six-year old brother comes to live with him and his roommate, played by Chirs Hardwick.

Keri Russell plays the title roll in Felicity, starring as a young-woman who follows her high-school crush Ben to college in NY. Amy Jo Johnson plays her fried Julie.

The WB is developing for 1999 a spin-off of Buffy The Vampire Slayer that focuses on Angel. Also for 1999 is an animated sit-com The Downtowners about a grup of teens and twentysomethings.

on Sunday, September 13, Sister, Sister, Smart Guy, Unhappily Ever After, and The Army Show start their fall run on. The Thursday night comedies start on September 17th. The premeires of 7th Heaven and Hyperion Bay are on Monday, September 21st, and Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Felicity begin on September 29th. It is the Army as you have never seen it before in this modern-day military comedy about a band of misfits who are using the branch to get all that they can get. Along the southern Gulf Coast lies the Army compound of Ft. Bendix, a forgotten military base that has quietly coexisted for years with its neighboring town, with free enterprise reigning over rules and regulations. For newly arrived Private John Caesar (John Sencio, MTV Veejay), a convicted computer hacker forced to enlist or do hard time, he discovers a Club Med existence complete with monogrammed bathrobes, saunas and P.T. boat races. Hyperion

In this intimate family drama dealing with issues of sibling rivalry and culture clash, twentysomething Dennis Sweeny (Mark-Paul Gosselaar, "Saved by the Bell") was a bright, introverted square peg who grew up in the imposing shadow of his popular, outgoing older brother Nick (Dylan Neal, "Dawson's Creek"). Felicity

Keri Russell ("Malibu Shores") stars as Felicity Porter in this evocative new coming-of-age drama from Imagine Television that will change the way we look at the choices we make in life. Practically since she left the womb, Felicity's existence had been meticulously planned out for her by her parents. Retreating from their conventional wishes and embarking on college in New York City, Felicity emerges out of this protected environment into her life, stumbling through the looking glass into adulthood. A supernatural thriller set in San Francisco from Spelling Television, "Charmed" marks the return to series television of Shannen Doherty ("Beverly Hills, 90210"), starring with Holly Marie Combs ("Picket Fences") and Lori Rom (Hallmark Hall of Fame's "Saint Maybe") as three sisters who discover they each possess otherworldly powers when they are reunited. Prue (Doherty), the beautiful and driven oldest sister; Piper (Combs), the earthy and creative middle sister; and Phoebe (Rom), the free-spirited youngest, could not be further apart in how they view the world and each other. A romantic comedy that celebrates life and love in all its glorious and complicated stages, "For Your Love" stars Holly Robinson Peete ("Hangin' with Mr. Cooper") and James Lesure ("Crimson Tide") as newlyweds, Dedee Pfeiffer ("Cybill") and D.W. Moffett ("Chicago Sons") as a married couple finding their stride, and Tamala Jones ("Booty Call") and Edafe Blackmon ("Murder One") who are still in the dating stage. Baby Blues

From a former writer and producer of "The Simpsons," the award-wining, nationally syndicated comic strip "Baby Blues" comes to life in this animated half-hour comedy series following the exploits of the intrepid and well-intentioned Darryl and Wanda MacPherson, and their newborn bundle of joy, Zoe. This true-to-life bible on parenting in the '90s has earned a revered spot on refrigerators across the country as a twisted alternative to the sound-mindedness of Dr. Spock. The comic strip characters hit prime time with voices provided by Mike O'Malley ("Life with Roger," "Deep Impact") and Julia Sweeney ("Saturday Night Live") as the MacPhersons. Starting with the trip home from the hospital, "Baby Blues" celebrates all the magical "firsts" of parenthood -- baby's first spit bubble, daddy's first diaper change, mommy's first sleep-deprived hallucination. Movie Stars

The life of a top Hollywood movie star isn't all glitz, glamour and star-studded premieres. "Movie Stars," a different breed of family comedy that takes on Tinseltown, stars Harry Hamlin ("L.A. Law") and Jennifer Grant ("Beverly Hills, 90210") as a high-profile Hollywood power couple -- Reese (Hamlin) stars in blockbuster action flicks while Jacey (Grant) brings home the Oscar nominations. Now, if she could only apply some of that no- nonsense, tell-it-like-it-is wisdom to her own life as the recently separated mother of a teenage son (Jesse Head) embarking on a whole new chapter. Zoe Bean

Rescue 77

An exhilarating new drama set in the nerve-shattering moment between calm and crisis, "Rescue 77" shadows a crack team of Los Angeles paramedics who are the first on the scene of disaster and the last hope of the critically injured. The animated Invasion America is finally set to premeire. On June 8th and 9th, the hour long series will air at 9:00pm, and then air for three weeks after Buffy on Tuesday. It ends with a 90-minute finale on Sunday, July 5th at 7:00pm.

You're The One has been yanked until after May sweeps is over. Starting May 10, Kelly, Kelly will move into the 7:00pm Sunday timeslot, and Alright Already will return to its 9:30pm Sunday timeslot. A second Seventh Heaven will air at 9:00pm on Mondays.

April 1, 1998

An animated comedy Brothers is in development as a possible mid-season replacement for next year. It centers around a high school senior who moves in with his 20-something brother in NY City.

Baby Blues, an animated adaption of the comic strip, is set to pilot as a Christmas special in December. Six scripts have been ordered.

Other shows in development include Hyperion about a computer genius and his brother, Bloomington Indiana about a Division I basketball team, Recue 8 about the life of paramedics, and Charmed about a group of 20-something women who realize they are witches.

Seth Green, who plays Oz, will join the starring cast of Buffy The Vampire Slayer.

The Tribune Co. has upped it's share of ownership of The WB Network to 25%. (Time-Warner owns 64% and Jamie Kellner owns 11%.)

In January 1999, The WB plans to expand to another night.

The WB has given Three the ax. Starting on April 20, the 9pm Monday slot will be filled by Kelly, Kelly followed by Alright Already. Beginning April 19, You're the One will take over the 9:30pm Sunday slot. A second 7th Heaven will air instead until then.

Dawson's Creek, Buffy The Vampire Slayer, and 7th Heaven will all be coming back in the fall.

Carmen Electra is working on a TV sit-com for The WB. It would be loosely based on her life. If the sit-com doesn't work out, they are interested in placing her in a drama.

The Shelly Long series Kelly, Kelly will probably premiere in March. It will air for a few weeks in the spring, and then return in the fall.

Big Kids' WB! news. Four new series are in the works for the fall: The Further Adventures of Pinky & The Brain, BRATS of the Dark Nebula, Batman Tommorrow, and Histeria!. The series returning in the fall are Tiny Toon Adventures, Animaniacs, Pinky & The Brain, Batman, Superman, Men in Black: The Series, and The Sylvester & Tweety Mysteries.

The Further Adventures of Pinky & The Brain takes a different approach to the rodent duo. The pair are adopted by the excitable Elmyra (of Tiny Toons) and leave the ACME labs.

Batman Tomorrow takes place in the 21st Century. The new hero, The Tomorrow Knight is mentored by an aging Bruce Wayne.

BRATS of the Dark Nebula is from The Jim Henson Company. It focuses on five orphans of a galactic war as the search for surviving family members and avoid shocktroops. The series is produced using state-of-the-art puppetry and computer graphics.

New episodes of Men in Black: The Series, Superman, Batman, and The Sylvester & Tweety Mysteries have been ordered.

The WB renewed all of its Sunday night programs for the whole season. The WB has a 22 episode order for Buffer the Vampire Slayer and Smart Guy. (this is old news, but hey).

The WB is working on a drama titled Felicity that follows a young woman as she leaves home for college in New York. Keri Russell plays the lead role in the pilot.

The Tuesday night debut of The WB is on January 20. Buffy the Vampire Slayer will air at 8:00pm, followed by the new Dawson's Creek at 9:00pm. Three takes over the Monday, 9:00pm slot beginning January 26.

August 3, 1997

The WB has ordered 7 episodes of Kelly, Kelly for a midseason replacement. The sit-com features Shelley Long as a Manhattan career woman who marries a New Jersey Fire Chief with five sons. Also ordered for midseason is a series starring Cynthia Geary (of Northern Exposure) as Lindasy Metcalf, a Southern Belle newlywed.

Shannon Tweed will play the role of Tom Arnold's ex-wife on The Tom Show.

Histeria! will debut on Kids WB! in fall 1998. The animated series is designed to meet the FCC educational programming requirements, and takes a look at world history through quick comedy sketches, informational bits and songs which will include great moments from every era of history, interviews with historical figures and re-enactments of well-known and not-so-well-known stories of the past.

A government agency brings together a jewel thief, a computer hacker, and a female con artist to clean up their problems.

Men in Black, an animated series based on the soon to be released movie of the same name, will debut on Kids WB! in October 1997. The series and movie are based on the comic book series of the same name by Lowell Cunningham. According to the press release:

The animated series, "Men in Black" (MiB) is about a secret governmental organization made up of men dedicated to providing inter-galactic immigration services for earth-bound alien beings. This team of covert operatives monitors alien activities on earth while keeping the aliens existence a secret. When evil aliens commit crimes it's up to the MiB to keep the peace with their high-tech gadgetry and unearthly instincts.

Beginning in October, "The Daffy Duck Show" goes on hiatus and the Kids' WB! Saturday morning programming lineup will be:

March 7, 1997

Pinky & the Brain will not be returning to prime time.

The new Kids WB! fall schedule has been announced.

Umptee-3 TV focuses on the pirate TV station Umptee-3, where the world is a magical place. The show fulfills the FCC education programming requirement by exploring themes ranging from science to values. Calamity Jane focuses on frontier heroine Calamity Jane. "Classic" dark episodes of Batman will air during the week, while new lighter toned episodes will air Saturdays.

The WB will add a fourth night of programming starting with the fall 1997 season.

September 5, 1996

Pinky and The Brain will return to primetime in first-quarter 1997 with an all new show format in order to provide it a seperate identity from the Saturday morning version.

April 6, 1996

The WB will expand its Saturday morning programming to four hours, adding three new shows: an animated Superman, The Damon Wayans Series (working title), and Road Rovers. Superman features the voice talents of Tim Daly and Dana Delany. The Damon Wayan Series focuses on 10-year-old Damey Walker and his energetic adventures through lower Manhattan. In Road Rovers the dogs of Earth's heads of state are actually superheroes summoned by The Master to protect the world from Dr. Parvo.

The 1996-1997 Saturday schedule will be:

March 10, 1996

The WB has ordered 44 more episodes for Sister, Sister for the next two years. The order continues to allow for the twice a week broadcast. The order gives The WB a total of 95 episodes of the series, and syndication talks with stations will begin this spring.

The WB has also confirmed orders for next season of Savannah and Pinky & the Brain.

Sister, Sister

This is the resurrected ABC sitcom about twin sisters. (played by Tia and Tamera Mowry) New episodes will air on Wednesday with an encore presentation on Sunday.

Pinky and the Brain

Steven Spielberg's spins off this new cartoon from his "Animaniacs" series.

Life Happens

Stars Kirk Cameron ("Growing Pains") as a bachelor and recent college graduate who unexpectedly becomes a parent to his three siblings.

Simon

A Forrest Gump-like tale of a youthful wide-eyed optimist in New York. The series stars comic Harland Williams and is from Danny Jacobson, the co-creator and executive producer of "Mad About You."

Jackie Guerra

Sitcom about a Latina hairdresser. Described as a Latino "Living Single." Show may be called GIRLFRIENDS.

Cleghorne!

Stand-up comic Ellen Cleghorne ("SNL") stars in this comedy about a single mother working in a public relations agency. Garrett Morris, another "Saturday Night Live" alumni, also stars.

May 16, 1995

From the May 13th TV Guide:

A new night will be added, but which night has not been announced. Three hours of children's programming on Saturday mornings, and one hour on weekdays will be added. Muscle will not be returning. Future programming includes: Aaron Spelling's Savannah, a new version of 77 Sunset Strip, a thriller SIU, and a situation comedy starring Ellen Cleghorn.

April 10, 1995

ABC apparently has decided to cancel Full House after 8 years. Warner Brothers, who helps produce the show is thinking of continuing it, and using as the main draw for a new night (probably Thursday) of network programming during the summer. The new night would also feature the series Simon about an optimist in New York City, which stars Harland Williams and Peter Dobson, and is produced by Danny Jacobson.

Warner Brothers is apparently preparing Superman: The Animated Series for the fall of 1996.

The Animaniacs will be moving from Fox to The WB in the fall of 1995.
