Dr. Mauldin will revisit his graduate student experience at CMU CSD/SCS using the metaphor of a craftsman shopping for tools. Looking at various projects both official and unofficial from the 1980’s, he’ll detail the origins of the LYCOS search engine, and discuss his journey from student to faculty to businessman to gentleman farmer.
