Engineers shall not accept financial or other considerations, including free engineering designs, from material or equipment suppliers for specifying their product.

Code is relevant when:

Engineer specifies a material or equipment suppliers product

Code is violated when:

Engineer accepts financial consideration for specifying the product
OR
Engineer accepts other considerations, including free engineering designs, for specifying the product

Code is not violated when

Engineer does not accept financial consideration for specifying the product
AND
Engineer does not accept other considerations, including free engineering designs, for specifying the product
